"Bicycle up the Chao Phraya River along the Edge of Kred Island"

This cycling tour is for those who have a short time holiday and would like to experience real Thais life and enjoy theirs cycling speed in colorful countryside along Thailand's main river "Chao Phraya" where is not too far from Bangkok (40 minutes drive from Bangkok ) and easy in close touch with peaceful and simple life of Thais that contract with busy life in Bangkok. This cycling area was surrounding with many style of Thai houses of Thais and Mon people in lush old-style mixed green plantations.

At Koh Kred, community of Mon people who migrated from Myanmar since 1776 whom now a day can still conserved their tradition and culture especially for a fantastic pottery handicraft. A cycling route to observe unique lifestyle of Mon Community at Koh Kred begin at the boat landing of Pak Kret Open Food Market to cross the Chao Phraya River to planters site of Pak Kret District where our cycling route is designed to ride in many kind of road conditions as small backstreets; alleys; dirt single track in banana orchards and rice fields; and flat asphalt roads including vast network of elevated pathway over Klongs which are only wide enough for bicycles and motorbikes so you will discover real Thai life.

ITINERARY:

BANGKOK - NONTHABURI - BANGKOK
(Ride 25-30 km)

8.00 a.m. Leave Bangkok by air-con van to Pak Kret District cross the Chao Phraya River by boat. Begin ride to explore Pak Kret's agricultural villages on local road that follow along the Chao Praya River past tropical fruit orchards, temples, schools and rice fields before take a boat trip along Lat Kred Canal heading to Koh Kred where we will ride on elevated pathway over Klongs to observe unique lifestyle of Mon Community and pottery workshops where products can be bought. Stop en route to visit Wat Paramaiyikawat which its Mon-style Mutao Pagoda is used to be a symbol of the Kred Island. It is advisable to take a look at mixed Thai and western-style mural paintings in the royal temple hall, or unique Mon crafts in the temple museum. After lunch at local restaurant site on the Chao Phraya River we travel back to Bangkok. Arrive in Bangkok at abut 14.00 p.m.
